CCSDS Ready for Arkansas and Missouri Double Header

By Ben Shelton (Conway, AR) -- The stars and cars of the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil will look for bluer skies this weekend after seeing last Saturday’s Will McGary Tribute at I-30 Speedway postponed by heavy rain.

The upcoming weekend – April 19-20 – has the tour set to roll into Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) on Friday night and into Legit Speedway Park (West Plains, Missouri) on Saturday night).

With two events in the books for the tour in 2019, Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer currently resides atop the series standings. However, Missouri’s Tony Jackson Jr. is technically the Midwest Sheet Marked Man, since he’s the highest member driver in the standings. Additional regulars expected this weekend include B.J. Robinson, Morgan Bagley, Hunter Rasdon, Kyle Beard, Gavin Landers, Timothy Culp, Jon Mitchell, David Payne, Brian Rickman and more.

Charlie Cole currently sits atop the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year battle with Scott Crigler and Chad Mallett in tow.

On Friday, April 19 a $2,500-to-win/$400-to-start program will be held at Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas). Robert Baker topped the series’ lone stop at the ¼-mile oval in 2018. Modifieds ($500-to-win) and Factory Stocks ($300-to-win) will also be part of the show.

Adult grandstand admission is $20 with children (6-to-12 years of age) $10 and kids (5-and-under) free. Adult pit admission is $35 with children (6-to-12 years of age) $20. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing action at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday night, the tour thunders into Legit Speedway Park (West Plains, Missouri), for a $3,000-to-win/ $400-to-start event that is being presented by West Plains Resaw Systems and Missouri Hardwood. Tony Jackson Jr. and Jack Sullivan split series’ wins at the 3/8-mile, clay oval in 2018. Hobby Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, Super Stocks, USRA B-Mods, and Bone Stocks will also be in action.

Adult grandstand admission (ages 13 and up) is $20 with senior citizens & military ID’s $15, kids (ages 6 to 12) $5 and children ages (5 and under) Free with an adult. The new tailgate section is $12 for each vehicle plus the price of admission. Pit passes are $35 (ages 13 and up), kids (ages 6-12) $15 and children (5 and under) are free with an adult.

The CCSDS tire rule Old No. 1 Speedway is Hoosier 1350 on all four corners with a Hoosier LM 40 option for the right rear. The tire rule for Legit Speedway is Hoosier LM 40 and WRS 55 on any four corners.
